DKIM signature settings

Configure DKIM signatures for Qboxmail domains to authenticate outgoing email and improve deliverability.

What is a DKIM signature

A DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) signature is an email message authentication method that identifies the actual identity of the domain sending the message and helps prevent spoofing on outgoing messages.

What a DKIM signature is used for

A DKIM signature lets you identify whether a message was actually sent by your provider's SMTP servers. Having a DKIM signature on all sent emails is a good practice and can be very useful during analysis following a cybersecurity incident, as it makes it possible to determine whether the message was actually sent by you and whether it was modified after you sent it.

Set up a DKIM signature

All email messages sent from Qboxmail SMTP servers are digitally signed by default with a shared DKIM signature, to improve their reputation and provide greater security. No settings or changes to the domain DNS are therefore required: the DKIM signature is already active.

If needed, Qboxmail lets you set up a custom DKIM signature for each domain. The custom DKIM signature can be enabled from the Control Panel by following the guide Set up a custom DKIM signature for a domain.

Warning

Before enabling a custom DKIM signature for your domain, make sure the SPF record is configured correctly.
