Activation and access

Activate Qboxmail Archive for email accounts and learn how users access archived messages from Webmail or Control Panel.

How to activate Email Archive

To activate the archive on one or more email accounts, follow the steps below:

  1. Make sure your plan already includes the archive option: if you have the monthly plan, you can proceed independently; if you have the annual plan, please contact us to request a quote for adding archives.
  2. Log in to the Control Panel and check/set, in the domain limits, the maximum number of archives that can be activated (set -1 if you want an unlimited number of archives).
  3. Log in to the Control Panel and follow the archive activation procedure.
  4. Once the archive has been activated, if you want to copy the messages currently in your mailbox to the archive, you need to perform a message import. When the import is complete, you will receive an email message.
  5. Access the Archive and check that the message import completed successfully.
  6. Now, if you want, you can delete some messages from your email account to free up space. These messages, if they are not older than the configured number of years, will remain in the archive in read-only mode.

Accessing Email Archive

To access Email Archive, the service must be activated on at least one domain and one email account.

Warning

Your domain administrator may have restricted access to your Archive to only when you are connected to the company VPN.

Archived messages are viewed through their own interface, separate from Webmail, and can be accessed at https://vault.qboxmail.com.

Users can access messages stored in the archive using the same login credentials as Webmail and, where present, Delegates can access them using the User IDs assigned to them.

Info

If you have enabled two-factor authentication (2FA), you will be asked to enter an additional OTP code.
