Avaliable Space Email Account
All email accounts have an available space of 8 GB. The available space of each email account (also called Quote) cannot be combined or split.
Example: a domain with 10 email accounts by 8 GB will have 80 GB of total available space, but will not have a single email account by 80 GB.
If you need email accounts over 8 GB in size, you can set the size to 25 GB and eventually increase the account size up to a maximum of 100 GB for email accounts for 25 GB packages.
From the control panel you can create email accounts with a different size than the default ones.. The settable quotas are:
- 1 GB
- 2 GB
- 3 GB
- 4 GB
- 5 GB
- 6 GB
- 7 GB
- 8 GB
- 16 GB
- 25 GB
- 50 GB for Professional (coming soon)
- 100 GB for Enterprise (coming soon)
For billing purposes, only 8 GB, 25 GB, 50 GB and 100 GB email accounts are counted.
You can specify for each domain the default size (Default Quota) and the maximum (Maximum email Quota) that the email accounts associated with that domain will have, in order to limit the possibilities of the Postmaster user.
The space used by email accounts can be controlled in real time by the user via Webmail, Control Panel or via the email client configured with IMAP (if it supports the display of the quota, such as Thunderbird). The domain client or Postmaster can check the quota of all its users from the control panel or via the API.
Email accounts also have a limit on the maximum number of email messages they can contain. The limit to the number of messages is only a protection system against any abuse and normally no user reaches it. This limit is at most 524288 messages for email accounts of 25 or more GB.
The number of messages contained in a mailbox is available only through API.
Almost complete mailbox alert (Warning Quote)
Qboxmail alerts users, via email, when it is approaching 100% of the space used. In particular, email alerts are sent to exceed 80% and 95% of the space used, and when the space used returns below 75% of the occupied space.
When 100% of the available space is reached, new emails can no longer be received and access to the email box can also be problematic. Email accounts that reach 100% of the quota must be expanded or email messages must be deleted from them.
Through the Activity Log, you can view almost full mailbox alerts sent to users
Notification via Webhook or almost full mailbox email
If you wish, you can choose to be notified when an email account is almost full or when it returns below a certain threshold. By accessing the control panel as Admin, you can choose to receive an alert via a Webhook or via an email notification.
Notifications via Webhook or email are sent:
- over 80% of the quote
- over 95% of the quote
- in case of return less than 75% of the quote
Commission for the Postmaster email account
The email account "email@example.com", being a service account, has an unchangeable quota of 50 MB.
