iPhone and iPad

Configure Qboxmail Mail, Contacts, and Calendar on iPhone and iPad with the correct iOS account settings.

In this guide, we will configure the Mail, Contacts, and Calendar apps included in iOS to access the email, address book, and calendar services provided by Qboxmail.

This lets you keep the email, address book, and calendars available in Webmail synchronized on iPhone/iPad as well. New contacts or events created in Webmail will also be visible from iOS and vice versa.

Info

If you need to configure your email account using Microsoft® Exchange ActiveSync, go to the dedicated guide.

Requirements

Compatibility

We recommend using the latest version of iOS to avoid synchronization issues when using the latest available technologies. Since the software used is already included in the operating system, there are no special precautions to report, other than installing all available updates for your iPhone/iPad.

Email configuration

To configure a Qboxmail email account in Apple Mail, you need to use the POP or IMAP protocols to receive messages and SMTP to send them.

  • Open Settings
  • Choose Mail from the list
  • Click Accounts, then Add Account, and select Other
  • Choose Add Mail Account

In the window that appears, enter the following information:

  • Name: Name displayed in the sender field
  • Email: email address to configure
  • Password: The email account password
  • Description: A name to assign to the email account

After filling in the fields, click Next and complete the remaining fields for the mail server:

  • Choose whether to use IMAP or POP
  • Incoming mail server - Host name: imap.qboxmail.com or pop.qboxmail.com
  • Outgoing mail server - Host name: smtp.qboxmail.com
  • Username and Password: enter the email address and related password for both the incoming and outgoing mail servers (even if they are marked as optional, enter them anyway).

Confirm the settings you entered by clicking Next, select Mail and Notes in the next window, and click Save

When you now open the Apple Mail client, it will start downloading messages for the configured account.

White Label access parameters are available for Resellers to configure in users’ email clients. By using the White Label parameters, any direct reference to Qboxmail will be removed. You can download the PDF with the White Label Parameters for service access from the customer area after logging in.

Address book configuration

To synchronize and share the address books on the Qboxmail platform, follow these steps:

After filling in the fields, click Next.

After completing this procedure, the window will close and the account will appear in the list of user accounts in iOS. When you open the Contacts application, the side menu will show, under Groups, the section for the account added earlier, containing the contacts available on the Qboxmail platform.

Calendar configuration

To synchronize and share the calendars on the Qboxmail platform, follow these steps:

  • Open Settings
  • Select Calendar
