Domains
Add, verify, and manage domains in Qboxmail Email Delivery, including DNS checks and domain status.
Add a new domain
To add a new domain, select Domains from the Control Panel sidebar.
If no domains have been added yet, click the + Add domain button in the center of the page to add the first domain.
If other domains have already been added, click the + Domain button above the table, on the right side of the page.
Then follow the instructions shown in the different steps to complete the operation.
Step 1 - Add domain for sending
First, enter the full domain name, including the extension, for example mydomain.com. The domain entered must not already exist in the Email Delivery system; otherwise, you will be asked to use a different name. If the domain passes this first verification step, it will be created correctly. However, before it can be used to send emails, it must complete additional verification and approval procedures, described in the following steps.
Step 2 - Operation feedback
If the domain has been added successfully, a confirmation message will be shown in the summary step.
At this point, you will need to proceed with domain verification.
You can access the procedure using the Go to verification button, available at the bottom right, or through the link on the DNS parameters page.
Step 3 - Verify DNS parameters
There are several ways to access the DNS parameters section to be verified:
- click the
Go to verificationbutton, available at the bottom right of the summary page; - use the
DNS parameterslink on the same page; - select Domains from the Control Panel sidebar, click the desired domain to access its details, and then open the DNS parameters section from the dedicated sidebar.
Once the section is open, copy the values for SPF, DKIM, and DMARC verification and enter them in your domain’s DNS management system. After completing the configuration, return to the panel and click the Verify domain button, available at the top right of the DNS Parameters page. The system will automatically verify the parameters and update the status of the related records. If verification is not successful, the following error message will be shown:
Parameter verified, but it contains errors. Check the configuration.
In this case, check that the DNS parameters have been entered correctly in the domain configuration.
If you want to entrust the configuration to a colleague or external technician, you can use the
Share parameters button to generate a text file containing all SPF, DKIM, and DMARC values, ready to be forwarded.
Domain list
The initial screen of the domains section shows all added domains. For each account, the following information is provided:
- Status
- Domain
- Associated accounts
Domains can be filtered by their status using the tabs above the table. The available statuses are:
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Enabled | |
| Pending verification | |
| Invalid DKIM | |
| Disabled | |
| Blocked |
Domain details
By clicking one of the added domains, you can access all information and settings related to the selected domain. The content is organized within a secondary sidebar, which makes it easy to navigate between the different available sections.
Associated accounts
In this section, you can view the list of accounts associated with the selected domain.
To associate the domain with a new account, click the + Associate account button. A modal containing all available accounts will open.
Select the accounts you want to associate with the domain using the checkboxes, that is, the accounts that will be authorized to send emails using that domain, then click the Associate button to complete the operation.
If no accounts have been created yet, you will need to create at least one before you can proceed with the association.
For more information, see the Add an account section.
DNS parameters
This section displays all the parameters required for domain verification. The records required for configuration are:
- SPF
- DKIM signature, which requires the configuration of two CNAME records for greater security
- DMARC
Using the button, you can quickly copy the record values and paste them into the domain’s DNS management system.
Once the configuration is complete, clicking the Verify button will allow the system to check that the DNS records are configured correctly.
You can also use the Share parameters button to generate a text file containing all SPF, DKIM, and DMARC values.
Each domain shows a status that helps you quickly identify the situation:
- Not verified: the records have not been configured yet or the configuration contains errors.
- Verified: the records have been configured correctly and verification was successful.
Approval
Once the verification phase has been completed successfully, the domain must also pass the approval phase, which is performed automatically by our systems. In this section, you can monitor the progress of the approval procedure. A notification email will be sent with updates about the domain status.
