Read and send email

Read, write, send, reply to, forward, archive, and organize messages directly from Qboxmail Webmail.

Read an email message

To read an email message, select the folder containing the message in the sidebar and click the message you want to read in the message list.

If the Show messages as conversations option is enabled:

  • messages belonging to a single conversation are grouped under the most recent message;
  • to show or hide the conversation content, click the number of messages shown;
  • actions performed on the compact conversation affect all messages in the conversation;
  • to perform an action on a single message, expand the conversation and select the message you want to act on.

Composition window

You can have multiple composition windows open at the same time (up to a maximum of 5) and also compose a message in full screen in Focus mode.

The composition window can be resized and moved. Drag the edges to change its size, and drag the black top bar to move it.

By clicking Restore window , the window will return to its original position and size.

To minimize the window, click Minimize window : minimized windows are grouped in a small box at the bottom of the page. Clicking the box displays the list of messages that were being composed (maximum 5 messages at the same time), from which you can open the desired window.

Each section of the list shows:

  • Message subject;
  • Recipients (the email address is shown if the recipient is not in the address book, or the name if the contact is saved);
  • Brief preview of the message.

Write and send a new email message

To open the composition window for a new email message, click the New message button or in the sidebar, fill in the required fields, and click the Send button to send the message to the addresses you entered.

To select a different sending identity for the message, click the contents of the From field and select the identity you want to use to send the message.

You can select a different sending identity only if one or more aliases have been associated with your account.

By clicking and dragging the email addresses, you can move them between the To, Cc, and Bcc fields.

To manually save a draft of the email message, click save at the bottom of the composition window or choose to save a draft when closing the composition window.

Messages being composed are saved automatically at regular intervals.

To add one or more attachments to an email message, click the attachments icon at the bottom of the composition window and select the files you want to attach to the message or drag them directly into the composition window.

You can attach files up to a maximum total size of 50MB.

By clicking more at the bottom of the message composition window, you can:

  • specify the priority by clicking High priority;
  • request a read receipt after the message is sent by selecting Read receipt;
  • receive a delivery receipt by selecting Delivery receipt;
  • edit a message in plain text mode (.txt) by selecting Plain text mode.

Reply to / forward an email message

To reply to an email message, click the message you want to reply to and choose one of the available reply options by clicking the corresponding icon.

When you reply to a message, Webmail automatically selects the correct identity based on the email address that message was sent to.

Actions on an email message

To perform an action on an email message, click the message you want to perform the action on and select the corresponding icon from the available options.

You can also perform an action on a message by right-clicking the message in the message list and selecting the action you want to perform.
