Automatic email deletion

Configure automatic deletion rules for Qboxmail email folders such as Spam and Trash to control mailbox cleanup.

Spam

Emails in the Spam folder are automatically deleted 30 days after they are received. To prevent important emails from being deleted, you need to periodically check the messages in the Spam folder and, if necessary, move them to other folders by marking them as Not Spam.

Info

There are no time limits for storing messages in any folders other than Spam and Trash.

Info

Emails downloaded locally to your email client via POP3 are not included among the emails deleted automatically. Only emails managed via IMAP and Webmail are included in these automatic activities. Once messages have been deleted by the account’s automatic cleanup system, they can no longer be recovered.

Trash

Emails moved to the Trash are automatically deleted 30 days after they are moved to the Trash.

Duplicate emails

Qboxmail has implemented a feature that automatically removes duplicate incoming messages from your email account.

This feature is useful when your email account is also among the recipients of an Email Alias. In this case, an email sent both to the alias email address and to your own email address would result in the same message being received twice.

In this case, the first message is delivered to the user’s Inbox, while the second message is delivered directly to the Trash marked as read, and will be automatically deleted after 30 days.
