Plus Addressing
Use Qboxmail plus addressing to create address variations with keywords and organize incoming messages automatically.
Plus Addressing
Plus addressing lets you create variations of your primary email address by adding a “+” followed by a keyword. Messages sent to these variations are delivered to the same mailbox.
How it works
If your address is nome.cognome@domain.com, you can use variations such as:
nome.cognome+newsletter@domain.comnome.cognome+supplier@domain.com
You do not need to create aliases or new accounts. All messages arrive in the primary mailbox.
You can use plus addressing to:
- Separate sign-ups, newsletters, or contact forms from general communications
- Identify where an address was registered
- Create automatic filters to route incoming emails to dedicated folders
Rules in Webmail
- Log in to Webmail
- Settings → Rules
- Create a new rule: condition “Recipient contains” and enter the keyword after the “+”
- Select the “Move to folder” action and choose the destination folder
- Save the rules
Using unique labels helps you understand whether a service has shared or sold your email address. If you start receiving messages sent to an address with a “+label” from senders not connected to the original service, the contact was probably shared. At that point, you can create a rule that automatically blocks or moves those messages, without changing your primary address.
