Introduction
Import existing mailbox messages into Qboxmail Archive and track import status for archived email accounts.
To import messages from an email account with archiving enabled, click the name of the email account in the list of email accounts with an archive, select Details from the available tabs, and click the Start import button.

Start import
The import lets you add to the archive all old messages currently present in an email account, dividing them by year between received and sent messages. The import will go back in time for a period equal to the number of archiving years set for the account archive.
You can import only messages from an email account configured with the IMAP protocol.
- Click the
Start importbutton. - Select the folders in the email account and choose where to archive the messages they contain.
- Complete the procedure by clicking the
Importbutton.

| Received | The folder content is archived in received messages |
| Sent | The folder content is archived in sent messages |
| Ignore | The folder content is not archived |
The import procedure can be performed only once and may take several hours to complete.
When the procedure is complete, a confirmation email will be sent. You can follow the import status from the details section of the email account.
Once the import is complete, you can, if necessary, delete the messages from the email account to free up space.
