Address book settings
Configure Qboxmail Webmail address book settings for contact display, sorting, default address books, and preferences.
Display
Set your preferred contact display and sorting mode by choosing which address book to use as the default when you add a new contact.
To change this setting, access the settings by clicking and go to the Contact display page. Here you can choose:
- Initial address book, i.e. the address book displayed automatically when opening the Address Book section
- Default address book, the address book where newly created contacts are saved.
- Contact sorting
- Your preferred data display.
Once you have made the desired changes, click the Save button at the top right to complete the operation.
Address books
Organize and manage your personal address books and the address books shared with you by other users.

Personal address books
To create, edit, or delete an address book, access the settings by clicking and select Address books in the sidebar.
To create a personal address book, click New address book, enter the name of the address book you want to create, and click the Save button to add it to the list
of address books displayed in the sidebar of the Address Book module.
To enable Microsoft® Exchange ActiveSync synchronization for the new address book, turn on the switch labeled Sync with Microsoft® Exchange ActiveSync.
You can also create a new personal address book by clicking the + Address book button directly in the sidebar of the Address Book module.
To edit a personal address book, click edit next to the address book you want to edit, make your changes, and click the Save button to confirm.
You can also edit a personal address book by right-clicking the address book name in the sidebar of the Address Book module and selecting Rename.
To enable/disable Microsoft® Exchange ActiveSync synchronization for a personal address book, go to the Address Book module. Right-click the address book name, select ActiveSync and then Sync/Do not sync. You can also enable or disable synchronization in the Address books section in the settings by clicking edit on the relevant address book.
On the default Address Book, synchronization with Microsoft® Exchange ActiveSync cannot be disabled and is available only for domains with a Professional or Enterprise plan.
To delete a personal address book, click the trash icon
next to the address book you want to delete and confirm the operation by clicking the Delete button.
You can also delete a personal address book, except for the default one, by right-clicking the address book name in the sidebar of the Address Book module and selecting Delete.
Automatic contact saving
Set up automatic saving for all contacts that are not already in your personal or company address books and choose which address book to add them to.
To set up automatic contact saving, access the settings by clicking
and select Address books in the sidebar.
To enable automatic contact saving, turn on the Automatically save email recipients not in the address book option and select the address book where contacts should be saved.
Click Save to complete the changes.
Shared address books
Shared address books are address books that other users in your same domain have shared with you, assigning you specific read or write permissions.
To share a personal address book, go to the Address books section in the settings, click edit
next to the address book you want to share, move to the Address book sharing tab, enter the name or email address of the user you want to share the address book with, and select them from the suggested results.
Before saving, click Edit next to the selected user to assign address book management permissions. Click the Save button to confirm the operation.
To stop sharing, click the trash icon
next to the user you want to remove from the sharing list.
To subscribe/unsubscribe to a shared address book, enter the name or email address of the address book owner. Select the owner, expand the entry, and click the Subscribe / Unsubscribe button next to the name of the address book you want to subscribe/unsubscribe to.
To subscribe to an address book, the user who owns the address book must share it and make it available for subscription.
You can also share a personal address book by right-clicking the address book name in the sidebar of the Address Book module and selecting Share.
