Domain aliases
Create and manage domain aliases in the Qboxmail Control Panel and understand how they inherit real domain accounts.
A domain alias is an alternative name for the real domain it is linked to and inherits all of its email accounts and email aliases. A real domain can have multiple domain aliases, but not the other way around. A domain alias, like the real domain, can receive emails, which are then delivered to the corresponding mailbox on the real domain.
Domain aliases have no additional cost. Access to services always takes place through the email address of the real domain.
Domain aliases list
The domain aliases list includes all domain aliases in Qboxmail systems that can be managed by a specific user (Admin, Team member, Manager, Postmaster), with their detailed information.
To view the list of domain aliases associated with a real domain, click the domain name in the domains list and select Domain aliases from the available tabs.
Information shown in the domain aliases list:
- Domain alias status
- Domain alias name
- Domain alias code

Add a domain alias
To add a domain alias, click Domains in the Control Panel sidebar and open the details of the domain you want to associate
the alias with by clicking its name. Select Domain aliases from the available tabs, click the + Domain alias button, and enter the name of the domain alias
you want to add.
Once the procedure is complete, the domain alias will be visible in the list of domain aliases associated with your domain and you will only need to verify its ownership to make it fully operational.
Domain alias ownership verification
Before you can use a domain alias, as with real domains, you must prove that you own it or are authorized to manage it by following the same verification methods used for real domains.
Delete a domain alias
To delete a domain alias from the domain aliases list, click the Trash button ,
next to the domain alias you want to delete, then confirm the operation by clicking the Delete button in the modal.
IDN domain aliases (with special characters)
You can activate IDN (Internationalized Domain Name) domain aliases. IDN domain activation is limited to domain aliases only, so you must first activate a real domain and associate an IDN domain alias with it.
